What are some key differences in how you approach marketing your business now compared to before we started working together?
Before we started working together, my attitude about sending emails was self-limiting. I felt like I was bothering people 2-3 times per month, asking them to buy from our business.
After working with Chad, listening to his advice about implementing a regular email schedule, and learning to send better information and content that our customers find valuable, I saw an immediate change in our customers’ engagement with our business. I’m a lot more confident now that our customers’ WANT to hear from us, so I’m also more motivated to send them content regularly, and I’m more inspired to send them good content.
Have you adopted any new systems to make marketing your business more efficient or strategic?
Before working with Chad, we’d heard great things about the Drip email platform.
Even though I’d used Mailchimp with pretty fair success for years, I felt like Drip would be a big improvement to our email system. I started using Drip on my own, but I just didn’t have the time and energy to really learn how to implement some of the more beneficial tools that Drip offers.
Chad provided the know-how to apply workflows and automation to the emails that we send our new customers. I know I could not have created these workflows with as much attention to detail as Chad helped provide. Several of the content pieces he suggested have been the most effective in generating customer feedback and engagement.
I’m grateful he was there to insert these tools into our workflows. The results have been exciting to watch.
What has been the impact on your business in the few short months since we implemented these changes?
To date, Chad’s Drip workflow for cart abandonment has been the #1 generator of sales.
We went from 8 Google reviews to 28 in a two month period and the automation to continue to generate more is up and running.
What skills have been improved upon or learned during our time together (copywriting, executing promotions, product development, etc.)?
Messaging!! The StoryBrand book you sent us when we initially started working together has been GOLD! EVERYTHING I now type gets run through that filter and the results have been fantastic.
My understanding of Drip gets better all of the time. It was pretty intimidating to begin with and I have a tendency to complicate things that are best kept simple. I feel like Chad does a great job of tailoring the capability of the Drip platform to our specific needs without making it too complicated or confusing.
Not even on my radar? Taking the time to ask our customers open questions about their needs. There are a few key emails that Chad inserted into our workflows that have resulted in more customer engagement than I knew was possible. These are all genuine questions that I think are important, but I never had the nerve (or the tools that simplify implementation!) to send them to customers before.
Has your thinking about the role of email changed? If so, can you describe?
This is hands down the biggest area of change for me–my beliefs and my attitudes about sending emails. I now know that my customers WANT to hear from us. They enjoy the content, and they respond to the promotions and messages that we are sending them.
The great feedback from our customers makes my job easier and creates a positive cycle. I’m SO MUCH more motivated to write emails and create a schedule that nurtures and invites our customers to engage with our business. Our business, providing healthy from farmers who treat their animals with kindness and their land with respect, is very personal for us.
I no longer feel like a salesperson for a business. I feel like a facilitator for a cause I believe in, and I enjoy connecting people to the experience they are seeking.
