What are some key differences in how you approach marketing your business now compared to before we started working together?
I’ve learned to focus on building long-term loyalty from current customers, it’s no longer about how many followers I have on social media!
Instead of spending $$$ on ads right now, my focus is on gaining the respect, admiration and enthusiasm of my current customers who then go to work for me raving to their friends and family.
Have you adopted any new systems to make marketing your business more efficient or strategic?
Before working together, social media (Facebook and Instagram) was our main focus for marketing. I felt like I was on a hamster wheel, constantly working to come up with new content-evergone. The hard work was not converting into sales either.
Chad you introduced us to the power of email marketing. We are now sending out weekly emails and have strategic workflows in place that go to work for us while we sleep 🙂 -evergreen
Was there a specific strategy or two that we executed that made a tremendous difference either quickly, or over time?
I’m so excited about the workflows that are now in place. Shortly after starting with the email marketing we’ve had numerous customers make a purchase who have had products sitting in their carts for over a year!
I was blown away by the success of our first product launch. We actually weren’t prepared for how well it did and almost sold out!
We’re launching our Toronto pickups in the New Year and our pre-orders have surpassed the total $ we made driving to a Toronto Farmers’ Market (2.5 hr drive) for the entire market season.
How has the engagement with your email audience changed?
Customers are emailing us to say thank you for the work we put into our emails, little do they know it was a workflow with evergreen content doing the work 🙂
Has the value you received as a result of the project been worth the investment of time and money?
The investment in this project has been worth EVERY. SINGLE. PENNY. !!! Our freezers and shelves were packed full of the highest quality food but weren’t moving.
We were afraid we’d have to throw in the towel. Now that we’ve changed our marketing strategy products are moving and we have a wonderful fan base encouraging and cheering us along.
We have so much hope for the future 🙂
What skills have been improved upon or learned during our time together (copywriting, executing promotions, product development, helping customers come to a buying decision, GrazeCart, Drip, email presentation, etc.)?
all those skills listed I’ve improved on especially my understanding of Drip.
I never thought I could get my head around Drip. It’s always intimidated me. Chad you sure are a great teacher! It’s complex but you broke it down so I could understand and I’m so happy to be confident in it now.
Has your thinking about the role of email changed? If so, can you describe?
I had no idea how powerful email marketing could be. My only experience with it was the annoying spam emails I would get from big companies. Would people even open my emails? Would I annoy them?
Not only are they reading them, I often get replies back thanking me for them. I feel so much more connected with my customers as they do with me.
What was it like to work with me?
It was my first time ever doing a video chat so I was nervous about it. Wow what a great way to communicate! I really liked how you would share the screen and show me how to do things on the computer (I’m a visual learner). You met me at my level of computer skills and taught everything so well.
You got a lot accomplished in a short amount of time. Which was great because I had a deadline 😉
